Prizes & Publication Opportunities

Prizes for Category One:

  1. Exceptional essay prize: Rs 101,000. If there is no exceptional essay in a particular year, we will reserve the prize money for exceptional essays for subsequent years so that more than one can be awarded;
  2. First prize: Rs 51,000;
  3. Second prize: Rs 31,000;
  4. Third prize Rs: 25,000.

Prizes for Category Two:

  1. First prize: Rs 25,000;
  2. Second prize:  Rs.20,000;
  3. Third prize: Rs 15,000
  • We will not only celebrate the prize winners at a special function at Miranda House but also give publicity to all the good contributions that bring forth valuable information and insights by publishing them on our dedicated website.
  • We will arrange for the publication of the best essays in a book form every year in collaboration with outside experts as well as the Miranda House team.
  • After posting these essays, we will invite responses from other members of that family/village or community to add their bit. It may lead to constant upgrading of these micro-histories.
