Kishwar Memorial Trust was established by Madhu Purnima Kishwar in 2023 to honour the memory of her parents, Smt. Shakuntla Kishwar (1928-2001) & Sh K. L. Kishwar (1916-2009).

Madhu Purnima Kishwar is a former student of Miranda House. She was Vice President and President of MH Student Union in the years 1969 and 1970 respectively. She feels honoured by the fact that her alma mater, Miranda House has agreed to collaborate with Kishwar Memorial Trust in hosting a pioneering project on a subject that has the potential to add significant new dimensions to social science research, especially Indian history and sociology.

Established in 1948 Miranda House was the first women’s college established within the Delhi University.

Miranda House has a special place among the women’s colleges of the University of Delhi. Its location in the heart of the University Campus, and its close interaction with the various Departments of the University and other campus colleges gives it a unique advantage.
